2013 ANNUAL CANADIAN EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS CONTINUITY AWARDS

After 20 years as Canada's leading advocate for disaster resilience, the Canadian Centre for Emergency Preparedness has passed the torch to a new champion of emergency management and public safety: the Emergency Management and Public Safety Institute at Centennial College. This past month has seem some significant events that will be everlasting for many. First of all from my family to all those that were affected by the Boston Marathon bombings our deepest sympathies and condolences.

The U.S. Department of Education (ED)'s Office of Safe and Healthy Students', OSHS, (formerly the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, OSDFS) Center for School Preparedness (CSP) provides support, resources, and training to support school emergency management efforts for local educational agencies (LEAs) and institutions of higher education (IHEs). I realize your OAEM Online community may be more important to OAEM members than the broader Canada wide networking which takes place in PTSC-Online, but I would appreciate it if you would take a moment and provide some input on how we can best network on a national scale.

I am searching for guidance regarding emergency management issues that I should be looking for in an Energy Renewal Application for wind turbines. Have any of my Emergency Manager peers been involved in this process before? I look forward to your comments and suggestions.

Please see the attached white paper, an informative read on the World Conference on Disaster Management.
