A testimonial to the CSA Z1600 course OAEM is offering.....
"Thanks to the OAEM for organizing the Z1600 Part 1 Course held inSudbury, Oct 2011! It was well worth the trip fromToronto, and a real bargain! The Z 1600 CSA standard is important inOntario, and all emergency managers should complete the course as part of professional development and due diligence {even if it's on your own nickel!]. Rob MacDonald and Mike Hand, our instructors, have extensive knowledge and experience, and triggered valuable class discussions in emergency management and business continuity. The exchange of information with fellow classmates was an extra bonus because of the wealth of real situational experience. An extra thanks to the OAEM for matching the Z 1600 course with a professional development session on the following day, as that added to the networking opportunity. Well done!" - Christine Kowalyk, MMAH

CSAZ1600. Thanks for the words Christine. The course is a great course to learn the standarad and discuss ideas, best practices for emergency managers and business contintuity professionals. We will be offereing up another course in 2012 with day one on Thursday 02 Feb 29012 in Guelph and day two on the Thursday before our PD session in London.
The board of directors have also endorsed the OAEM instructor core to deliver this course to various companies, business, agencies etc in the straight two day format back to back, so should someone like to host a course they can contact me through OAEM.

I agree, Christel. I attended the two day course this fall and found it to be informative. CSA Standards are often confusing and dfifficult to read and understand. This course helped put the standard into perspective. I found the pace and content to be a perfect fit. Along with the great networking opportunity the exercises helped to provide an understanding of how the standard could be applied to an organization. I definitely left the course with a better understanding of how the Z1600 can be further applied to my organization. I would recommend this course to anyone working in Emergency Management or Business Continuity. Greg Rochon RN AEM
