Summary

Emergency Management and Public Safety Institute (EMPSI) is offering a certified course to train individuals in incident management.

The increase of new challenges, natural disasters, and global threats have changed society's potential exposure to hazards, and made all aspects of community and business vulnerable. These events have increased the demand for skilled individuals and organizations who can effectively manage these types of situation.

Course topics include: IMS concepts, principles, and standards; leadership and management; delegation of authority and management by objectives, functional areas and positions, briefings, organizational flexibility, incident action plans, best practices and simulation.

Pre-requisite: You must have completed IMS 100 Introduction to Incident Management System,online self study course: available through the Emergency Management Ontario Training Portal. (see attached brochure for link)

Registration Fee: $200.00

A provincially-certified course that is designed to familiarize with the application of the command system in a simple incident or during early phases of a complex incident as well as the creation of action plans.  Through group work, presentations, and case studios, knowledge of incident facilities, resource management, and communications will be gained.
