Survive Newsletter July 2004 Welcome to the new Survive newsletter - from Lorraine Lane, Survive CEO I am pleased to bring you the first edition of the new Survive monthly newsletter, which I hope you will find informative and interesting. Each month we will bring you the latest information about what's happening in the industry and advance notice about forthcoming events and services. The Survive team have been extremely busy since early this year working to improve the level and range of services that we are able to offer our members. Recent changes include: - - the introduction of new membership bands which allow members to choose the level of membership most suited to their needs - reduced membership pricing - increased investment in our resources - no limit on the number of events that members can attend at the special 'preferential Survive member rate' - the introduction of a special '2 for 1' offer on Survive training courses (available only to - members who book before the 31st August 2004). - the offer of a free place on a Special Interest Group workshop or £100 off a training course for all members who renew their membership by 31st July 2004. - the introduction of three new training courses and two new Special Interest Group workshops - the organisation of our 2004 Annual Conference - make a note in your diary for the 25- 26 November, 2004 - the re-launch of the Survive quarterly magazine planned for Autumn 2004 These changes, together with our newsletter, website, Special Interest Group workshops and training courses, are intended to facilitate the provision and exchange of industry information, best practice and common issues amongst our members. We look forward to developing and expanding these services in the future. As a new member of the Survive management team, Kim Ashley, Client Relationship Director, has been instrumental in the Survive membership restructure. She says, "We have undertaken a fundamental review of our membership services and have come up with a range of packages that will better suit our members' needs." Principal amongst these are that: - there are far more important issues to consider than the remote possibility of a terrorist attack and; - even if terrorism poses a serious threat to the organisation, there's nothing that can be done: that's a job for the Police. During 2003 over three hundred people attended SIG workshops and over 50% were kind enough to complete and return a feedback form to let us know why these events are important and how we could improve them further. Without doubt, the greatest value came from the networking opportunity that the SIG workshops represent; but this is far more than simply chatting over a cup of coffee!
