A number of emergency management education programs are currently recognized by the Ontario Association of Emergency Managers (OAEM). All programs presented below were reviewed by the OAEM Board of Directors and confirmed as programs providing education consistent with generally accepted principles of emergency management. Some programs are provided in Ontario while others are provided to Ontarians as distance education programs.

Programs in Ontario (in alphabetical order):

Education programs outside of Ontario but available to Ontarians:

• Brandon University's Applied Disaster and Emergency Studies
• Justice Institute of British Columbia
• Northern Alberta Institute of Technology
• Royal Roads University

OAEM recognizes the importance of working with emergency management students as they will be our next generation emergency managers. Although OAEM's focus is on Ontario, it supports networking with emergency management students across Canada to make them aware of emergency management opportunities in Ontario. 

OAEM recommends the Students section of Partnerships Toward Safer Commnities - Online as a forum for Canadian emergency management students to network among themselves and with career emergency managers. This forum provides a Student's Blog, a Journal Discussion Blog for sharing academic papers and an Employment Blog to help students find emergency management related work.
