The OAEM Mentorship Program is designed to facilitate the establishment of meaningful mentoring relationships between OAEM members and current students in order to advance personal and professional development.

Students that participate in mentorship programs enjoy greater career progress, establish meaningful professional relationships and build upon what they have learned in their studies

The OAEM Mentorship Program provides an opportunity for students to develop a mentoring relationship with emergency management/business continuity professionals who can offer advice; provide a window into today's business realities within the industry sector; share experiences and provide career guidance. In order to achieve these goals, the Mentorship Program objectives are as follows

Objectives

• Help students develop a strong, professional relationship with their mentor
• Ensure that students assess their goals and conduct industry research before meeting their mentor
• Provide the tools and support a student needs in order to be prepared for the realities of the emergency management/business continuity field
