Emergency Management Ontario

Emergency Management Ontario (EMO) works to keep people safe and secure by coordinating with other organizations to prepare for emergencies and respond to them, when they happen. Prevention and preparedness are key pillars of EMO's mandate. When the unthinkable happens, EMO is there to support community response and coordinate provincial activities. EMO's mission is to lead the coordination, development and implementation of prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery strategies to maximize the safety, security and resiliency of Ontario through effective partnerships with diverse communities. EMO is committed to providing and ensuring that appropriate programs are in place based on their legislative foundation through the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and supporting the safety and security of Ontarians and a robust and resilient Ontario Public Service.
