Public Safety Canada - Government Operations Centre

The Government Operations Centre (GOC) supports preparedness for and leads the coordination of the integrated federal response to all-hazard events of national interest.

GOC Response Level:


As of May 29, 2025, the GOC is activated at Level 3 (Coordination of Federal Response) for wildfires. The GOC is also activated at Level 1 (Enhanced Reporting) for flooding.


Province of Ontario - Emergency Management Ontario 
The three provincial response levels are routine monitoring, enhanced monitoring, and activation. The provincial response level adopted will depend upon the severity of the emergency and the appropriate type and level of staffing required to monitor and/or respond.

Active First Nation communities declarations of emergency: 

  • May 31, 2025 - Deer Lake First Nation and Webequie First Nation each declared a state of emergency, as forest fires continue to pose a danger to communities.

  • May 8, 2025 - Pikangikum First Nation in northern Ontario has declared a state of emergency due to the critical condition of its water and wastewater systems.

There were no new wildland fires confirmed in the Northeast Region today.

There are 2 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region:

  • Cochrane 3 (COC003)

The fire hazard is low to moderate across most of northern half of the Northeast Region. Areas south of West Nipissing and French River are under a low fire hazard.
