Student Webinar Series

STUDENT WEBINAR SERIES

Students looking to showcase their achievements, increase their profile, and build skills now have a platform through OAEM‘s Student Webinar series. Launched on February 8, 2021, this series highlights the interesting and important work of students within the discipline of emergency management.


Our goal is to feature several students each year. We aim to build up our Series to the point where we offer sessions with greater frequency. The success of this Series depends on you!
 
Are you interested in presenting or would like to suggest a speaker? Read on 
 
Presenters need to:

  • Be enrolled in an Emergency Management/Business Continuity post-secondary program. Have completed at least one semester in the program if enrolled on a full-time basis; or two courses within the program if enrolled on a part-time basis.

OR
Recently graduated from an Emergency Management/Business Continuity post-secondary program within six months.

  • Submit a 250-to-500-word summary regarding an essay or research project you have completed that is relevant to the discipline and describe why it is valuable to share with the OAEM community (word doc or .pdf file – emailed to the Education Director.  

  • Be an OAEM Student Member. If you‘re not a current OAEM Student Member, you can sign up here: https://oaem.ca/shop/ or by contacting the Membership Director.  First year of membership is free for students, and the second year is only $65!

 
Each webinar will:

  • Run for 30 to 45 minutes. 

  • Feature one to two presenters.

  • Have a brief Q&A to follow.

  • Require a PowerPoint Presentation.

  • Utilize the Zoom platform.

Note: We do our best to respond to all applications and inquiries, however, please understand that making a submission does not guarantee you a presenter spot in this series. The Education Director will contact you should your submission be advanced.
